Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a discount manually?

Multiply the original price by the discount percentage, then divide by 100 to get the amount saved. Subtract that from the original price for the final price. Example: $80 at 25% off → 80 × 25 / 100 = $20 saved → $60 to pay.

Is "30% off" the same as "buy 2 get 1 free"?

Often not. Buy 2 get 1 free on three equal items is effectively 33.3% off — slightly better than 30%, but only if you actually want three items. Stores frequently pair the two offers against each other, so comparing the effective percentage is the fair way.

How do stacked discounts work (e.g. 20% + extra 10%)?

They multiply, not add: 20% off followed by an extra 10% off gives 1 − 0.8 × 0.9 = 28% total off, not 30%. Use the second discount field above to see the real combined price.
